Special platform for digester in paper industry
Project requirements
The client needs a special hanging platform to perform maintenance tasks inside a digester at a paper mill in Uruguay. The goal is to improve assembly and disassembly times compared to using multidirectional scaffolding systems.
Development of equipment capable of positioning personnel throughout the entire internal perimeter of the digester; all equipment must be detachable and able to fit through a side manhole.

Special hanging scaffold composed of 3 distinct parts:
An upper suspension structure, anchored to the digester's own pipework.
A metallic ring is suspended from this structure, consisting of a circular runway beam where 2 motorized translation trolleys circulate.
These trolleys suspend the special hanging platform, which is designed with a free central space to allow clear passage around the digester's central tube while still providing access to it. The end balconies of this platform allow reaching the entire internal perimeter of the digester for maintenance.
A team of Accesus technicians traveled from Spain to perform the initial assembly of the equipment and to train the client.
The use of this special hanging platform allows digester maintenance to be completed in less time than with traditional scaffolding systems.
