Project overview
Background
The customer has to access the Fernandez Casado cable-stayed bridge strands formed by 2 piers of 120 meters high and 220 strands that support the bridge.
Project
Development of a suspended platform to access the bridge piers’ strands along their entire length. An upper traction trolley and two suspended cradles will be used: one on each side of the strand.
Solution
A cable anchored to the pier’s top and stretched to the bridge’s bottom is used to pull a trolley up the strand. Two special suspended platforms designed to fit this particular case are suspended from this trolley and allow workers to check and repair damage to the cable-stayed bridge’s strands.
